INFOR Hosts Carbon Materials Technology Salon at Songshan Lake Headquarters

INFOR hosted a carbon materials technology salon with more than 50 experts and company representatives, presenting its SWCNT and MWCNT powder and slurry equipment.

On 24 April INFOR hosted a Carbon Materials Technology and Development Salon at its headquarters in Songshan Lake, Dongguan. More than 50 participants, including over ten carbon materials experts and company representatives, took part in lively discussions.

The salon was hosted by INFOR General Manager Yang Xiaoyan, who opened with a broad view of the current state and future trends of carbon materials and linked the sessions throughout the event.

Several experts from the front line of the carbon materials industry gave in-depth talks on its history, technical breakthroughs and paths to industrialization. From traditional carbon materials to new nano-carbons, they used solid data and cases to show the broad prospects of carbon materials in new energy, electronics and aerospace, and participants left with a clearer understanding of technology iteration and market logic.

As host, INFOR presented its current development and future strategy, including office and plant planning, market plans, global presence, product lines and application cases, giving guests a full picture of the company today.

INFOR's carbon materials lead also presented the company's latest results in single- and multi-walled carbon nanotube powder and slurry equipment, offering practical references for equipment selection and application based on real cases.

Applications of single-walled CNTs in new energy are growing rapidly. With excellent conductivity, mechanical properties and light weight, SWCNTs have great potential in battery conductive agents, high-performance composites and flexible electronics, and the segment is forecast to reach a market size of hundreds of billions of yuan, one of the most explosive growth areas in carbon materials.

In multi-walled CNTs, INFOR's powder equipment and slurry grinding equipment are already widely and maturely applied, with industry-leading stability and productivity. In the more technically demanding field of SWCNT powder, INFOR has developed core equipment including arc furnaces, tube furnaces and fluidized beds, which are running at several customer sites and have built up valuable process experience.

The company will continue to invest in carbon materials equipment R&D, keeping pace with the industrialization of frontier materials such as SWCNTs and advancing the industry with higher-performance, lower-cost equipment.

At the close of the salon, experts and business representatives discussed industry pain points, standards development and collaboration between industry, academia and research, sharing many valuable views.

INFOR will continue to build its work in carbon materials, using innovative equipment as a lever to unlock a market worth hundreds of billions of yuan together with industry partners and support the high-quality development of China's carbon materials industry.
