4th European Battery Summit 2026

November 2-3, 2026 | Barcelona, Spain | Visit the INFOR booth

Europe is moving from a pilot market for electrification to the main battleground for a local battery value chain.

With the new EU Battery Regulation in force, tighter carbon footprint accounting, increased subsidies for local capacity, and demand for both energy storage and automotive batteries rising at the same time, Chinese new energy equipment companies can no longer treat Europe simply as an export destination. It is a long-term arena that requires on-the-ground understanding of regulations, processes and supply chain dynamics.

At the summit, INFOR will exhibit at Booth T4, bringing its intelligent grinding equipment for lithium battery materials and complete-line process solutions to Barcelona to meet European automakers, cell manufacturers, materials producers and investors face to face, and to discuss how upstream materials preparation can be adapted to European standards.

European Battery Summit: A Gathering at the Gateway to Industry Rules

The 4th European Battery Summit, organized by Shanghai Metals Market (SMM) and supported by ACCIÓ, the Catalan trade and investment agency, will be held on November 2-3 at the Hilton Barcelona in Spain.

It is not merely an equipment trade show, but a high-density dialogue platform focused on the EU battery passport, the Critical Raw Materials Act, extended producer responsibility for recycling, the resurgence of LFP and the industrialization of solid-state batteries. Previous editions have brought together decision-makers from across the value chain, including CATL, BASF, PowerCo, Rock Tech and Hydrovolt.

For materials and equipment companies, it offers three things that are hard to find elsewhere:

• A read on the policy landscape: compliance requirements for ESG disclosure, recycled content and due diligence are discussed here in advance;

• Visibility into technology shifts: from high-nickel NCM back to LFP, from liquid to semi-solid and solid-state, and from chasing energy density to balancing manufacturability and carbon emissions;

• Access to local customers: European decision chains are long and certification is strict, so the summit is the shortest path to a first handshake.

Yet competition among all battery technologies ultimately comes back to the same starting point: whether materials are ground fine enough, uniform enough and consistently enough.

Chinese High-End Equipment Enters the European Market

Many European customers looking at Chinese equipment for the first time start by asking about price. But once they reach the production line stage, they quickly realize that what they are buying is not just a bead mill (sand mill), but a complete particle size control system for materials.

Chinese equipment earns its place in Europe not through low prices, but through three layers of capability:

① Process database

INFOR has run thousands of pilot and production data sets on LFP, silicon-carbon anodes, sodium-ion cathodes and solid-state electrolytes. Two suppliers may both claim D50 = 300 nm, but some achieve fineness by dilution, while INFOR relies on media gradation, chamber flow-field design and closed-loop in-line fineness control. Only the latter can pass European customers' PPAP.

② EPC-level delivery

From powder dosing, pre-mixing, grinding and dilution to NMP recovery and exhaust gas treatment, INFOR delivers the upstream workshop as a complete operating system. What small and mid-sized European materials plants lack is not individual machines, but a system partner willing to stand behind the yield of the entire line.

③ Compliance-friendly design

Traceable energy consumption data, replaceable key components, open control protocols and logged remote diagnostics: these invisible specifications are exactly the chapters European plants scrutinize most closely during acceptance.

At its core, Chinese high-end equipment entering Europe is about engineering capability being recognized.

In this wave of going global, INFOR has turned its nano bead mills into energy-efficient, intelligent, complete-line delivery units. The goal is not to tell a domestic-substitution story, but to show European customers that equipment from China can understand materials, regulations and turnkey contracting all at once.

November 2-3, Barcelona: See You at Our Booth

As the European battery industry turns from policy-driven to compliance-driven manufacturing, the stability of upstream equipment directly determines the release rate of downstream cells.

This time, INFOR is bringing both verifiable grinding processes and proven complete-line experience to Booth T4: the LPM vertical nano ceramic bead mill, the NCT turbine bead mill, the NCP pin-type bead mill, and a dedicated process package for solid-state electrolytes, all explained on site using the same scale-up principles.

Good materials are ground, good production lines are engineered, and good partnerships begin with a face-to-face technical conversation.

November 2-3, Hilton Barcelona, Spain: INFOR looks forward to meeting you at Booth T4!
