As INFOR's new Hubei industrial park moves from blueprint to production floor, the focus of the new energy industry is also shifting from how fine materials can be made to how fast, how high and how reliably battery cells can perform.

At this milestone, where the park opening and an industry forum run side by side, we welcome an industry guest who combines the strategic vision of leading materials companies with hands-on experience in the global supply chain for high-end batteries: Mr. Zeng Zi, Vice President of E-One Moli Energy Corp. (Molicel), has confirmed his attendance at the 2026 New Energy and New Materials Industry Development Forum & INFOR Hubei New Industrial Park Opening Ceremony, where he will deliver a keynote titled Market Prospects for High-Performance Batteries in Emerging Sectors.
From Strategic Planning to Resource Deployment: A Big-Picture Observer of the Value Chain

Mr. Zeng holds a master's degree from Ocean University of China. He has previously worked at CNGR Advanced Material (as Secretary to the Chairman) and Ronbay Technology (as Director of Strategic Management and General Manager of the Customer Development Center), where he was deeply involved in strategic planning, market development and operations management at two leading materials companies, giving him complete front-line insight into cathode materials, customer portfolios and industry cycles.
He is currently Vice President of E-One Moli Energy Corp., with overall responsibility for bulk materials supply chain procurement and upstream resource investment. Molicel was the world's first company to mass-produce rechargeable lithium metal batteries and has more than 40 years of experience in the battery industry. It has long focused on the development and manufacture of high-power cylindrical cells, which are widely used in high-end applications such as aircraft and other flying vehicles, rockets and orbital satellites, electric hypercars and high-performance electric motorcycles, and battery backup units (BBUs) for AI data centers. According to the company, it holds more than 80% of the market for flying-vehicle batteries and more than 95% of the market for orbital satellite batteries in Europe and North America.
He is not a technical expert who starts from the laboratory, but someone who works backward to the market along the entire resources-materials-cells-end-applications chain. As he has emphasized in previous industry talks:
In the second half of supply chain competition, what matters is not the cost of any single link, but the ability to penetrate resources, manufacturing and compliance at the same time.
High-Performance Batteries Are Redefining the Boundaries of Emerging Sectors
At the forum, Mr. Zeng will speak on Market Prospects for High-Performance Batteries in Emerging Sectors, turning Molicel's experience in high-rate cylindrical cells and extreme-condition validation into a macro assessment for the industry:
• The flight economy: eVTOLs, drones and orbital satellites are driving triple demands on energy density, discharge rate and low-temperature reliability;
• High-speed mobility: electric hypercars and high-performance electric motorcycles are judged not just by range, but by peak power and thermal safety margins;
• Computing infrastructure: AI data center BBUs and UPS systems are moving from backup to primary buffering, making high-power cells the voltage stabilizer for computing power;
• Supply chain implications: how upstream investment in lithium, cobalt and nickel resources and bulk procurement strategies can secure positions ahead of volume growth in emerging applications;
The consistency of high-end cells ultimately depends on micron-level stability in powder grinding, slurry dispersion and electrode processing, which is exactly the manufacturing foundation INFOR's new industrial park is built to provide.
An Industry Assessment of Where High-Performance Batteries Are Heading
In his presentation, Mr. Zeng will translate Molicel's practice in high-end applications worldwide into takeaways for materials companies, cell manufacturers, equipment suppliers and investment decision-makers alike:
• Demand side: what performance are the low-altitude economy, commercial spaceflight, high-performance electrification and AI data center BBUs each paying for, and what very different requirements do they place on material systems, cell formats and manufacturing windows?
• Supply-side constraints: as ultra-high-power technology routes advance, where are the real bottlenecks: the cathode, anode or electrolyte, or electrode manufacturing, assembly consistency and yield at scale?
• Supply chain restructuring: as localization, traceability and low-carbon manufacturing become entry requirements for high-end overseas customers, how should materials procurement and upstream resource investment balance efficiency, security and compliance?
• Opportunities for equipment: the more high-performance cylindrical cells pursue ultimate consistency, the less any variation in upstream powder processing, slurry dispersion and electrode manufacturing can be allowed to amplify. This is precisely where materials and equipment must evolve in step.
This ties directly into the underlying logic of this year's forum: materials set the performance ceiling, equipment sets the mass-production floor, and the supply chain determines how far commercialization can go.
As the New Park Opens, the Mass-Production Logic of High-Performance Batteries Comes to Gucheng
This November in Gucheng, INFOR's new Hubei industrial park will be officially unveiled. From the forum stage, Mr. Zeng will draw on industry data and a global supply chain perspective to answer one question:
As the traction battery market becomes a red ocean, the story of high-performance batteries in the sky, in space and in computing centers is only just beginning.
For the materials companies, equipment makers and end-application players in the audience, the value of this talk lies in hearing how an executive who has led strategy at a top materials company and managed global resource investment for high-end batteries turns emerging sectors from concepts into markets that can be procured, scheduled and paid for.
